Water Damage to Wood Floors

The wooden floors in this California home was damaged due to a water leak from the ceiling. Not only was the ceiling damaged, but the water raised the wood floors. The residents contacted SERVPRO or Central Glendale about the ceiling and the roof.  Even on waxed and sealed floors, excessive amounts of water can still be absorbed by the grain in the wosod. In this case, it is very important to act fast. Depending on the level of damage, sometimes the wood can dry and go back into place but most of the time the wood is raised and looks swollen. If that happens, it is important to use equipment to dry it and avoid mold.
