Hotel Water Damage Emergency

This hotel had a significant leak from an old pipe. Our commercial water damage techs got the call at 3 AM and were extracting within the hour.

The 3 AM Call

Our office received a call in the middle of the night from the night manager explaining there was a significant leak from a broken pipe that flooded a room and into the hallway. Our fully trained water damage technicians were there within the hour. Since our employees are part of the Glendale community, it was easy for them to check on the situation.

The production manager on duty that night inspected the cause of damage, took photos of the rooms that were affected and began sketching the area. After he spoke to the manager in charge and the paperwork was filled out by the building owner, our commercial water damage crew got to work immediately. It was a great thing the hotel manager on duty called us when he did. By doing this, he prevented the hotel from getting mold, which can cost thousands of dollars to remediate.

Our water techs began extracting the excess water soaked into the carpet. Once they got as much of it out as possible, they began to set up fans in different areas. Unfortunately, some of the water began to absorb into the walls, since it is made up of nonporous materials. Our experts figured it would be best to angle some fans directly at the wall to dry it. The entire drying process took about 6 days to dry completely. What is better is the hotel did not have to replace the carpet at all, saving them even more money.
